about the therapist

Kara LeSiege, MS, OTR, CHT is a Certified Hand Therapist with nearly 30 years of experience in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Her clinical background includes extensive work in hospital-based hand therapy clinics throughout Greater Boston, as well as founding and managing a hand therapy clinic within a privately owned hand surgeon practice for nearly two decades.

Throughout her career, Kara has collaborated closely with hand surgeons to develop and refine post-operative rehabilitation protocols, adapting treatment approaches as surgical techniques and standards of care have evolved. Her experience spans both surgical and non-surgical conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow, including fracture management, tendon and nerve injuries, joint conditions, and repetitive stress injuries.

Prior to becoming a Certified Hand Therapist, Kara trained as a violinist and earned a master’s degree in performance from the New England Conservatory. After experiencing multiple performance-related injuries, she pursued a master’s degree in occupational therapy at Boston University. This background informs her specialized understanding of overuse, ergonomic, and performance-related upper extremity conditions.

Kara now provides expert virtual hand and upper extremity occupational therapy to patients throughout Massachusetts, offering individualized, evidence-based care through secure telehealth.
